Mount Trial Active. You have temporary access to the raptor mount while the mount trial is active. You can permanently unlock this mount by upgrading to a full account. Mount Trial Active is an effect granted to free to play players at level 10 (or every multiple of 10 if they are already past that). This effect is applied once per character. But they still get the full complement of slots as soon as they buy Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns. Second, free accounts have some chat restrictions and economy restrictions so that they can’t be used to disrupt the game for other players. Free accounts can use local chat and whispers, but not map chat. True; if your issue is just the 'new account restrictions' policy, you will just have to wait the 5+ days. If it is something else, again you will need to discuss it with the CS Team. If I remember correctly it is 5 played days in time so if you play 1 hour a day it will take awhile. 1. You don't get the F2P restrictions, you get everything else you paid for, and you get the LWS2 episodes that came out when you logged in. If they ever rerelease LWS1 episodes, you may or may not get those free as well.

Note: Guild Wars 2 has two types of PVP - "conquest" and "world vs world". Conquest is 100% free player friendly, as gear is 100% even across everyone from a day 1 player to a 10,000 hour master. World vs World is still free player friendly, but it allows gear and stat progression to matter -- so you may feel hamstrung as a free player.

GW2 works differently from all of those, especially the ones that were DESIGNED to be F2P. GW2 wasn't. ANet decided to turn some of it free but everyone who became a player prior to that point paid money for it. Most of us full price. The restrictions are there to safeguard what had already been established and protect what would be added later.
Okay, so you've said that you're willing to buy expansions if you get that far. That's literally the only mandatory Real Money spending, as the expansions are not on the gem store. It would be VERY slow, but you can farm gold to get Living World Seasons 1-5, which, with the expansions, is the entire game, and the moment you buy an expansion, free-to-play restrict

Reasons to use steam: wallet funds, regional pricing (if it would benefit you), easier to buy the complete package. Reasons to use vanilla: can link a GW1 account later if you want the legacy rewards, Anet gets more of your money. Otherwise they're functionally identical and can play together on the same servers. 26.

Its actually a really fare model. Probably one of the better ones ive seen in terms of being player friendly in an mmo. I mean dota 2 is free 2 play and gives you everything, but it also has a different way of things. I think hte website has when the restrictions are lifted at which levels. 9/10
