Just curious what skills some of you guys are focusing your character around? I mean, are you using all your skill points and stats on fighting / combat skills, and leaving things like steward, medicine etc. to companions? In terms of equipment for a crossbow build, as with any other build there are 4 weapon slots to utilise. In theory you can choose to equip a crossbow in slot 1 and then fill 2, 3, and 4 with crossbow bolts. This will allow you to use the crossbow for the longest possible time in a battle, and may be especially useful in long siege defences.
Thing is though, this custom weapon can be crafted in mass and doesn't require you to find it or have the gold for it. Also, in comparison, this custom weapon has -5 length, +1 swing speed, and +1 handling. It can have even more stats when the "master smith" perk triggers. My "masterwork" variant stats: Weight: 1.4.
