A5 hour energy has the caffiene of about 2 cups of coffee or 200mg. Mayo said that's fine source. The rest are B vitamins pretty much. Those are water soluble and shouldn't cause toxicity. Obviously don't take during pregnancy, but that goes for coffee and caffeinated sodas also. [deleted] • 11 yr. ago.
Coffeeis actually healthy. It’s good for you, it’s full of cancer fighting antioxidants. Energy drinks aren’t, they are just sugar water with b vitamins and caffeine. Also, a lot of it is crap marketing. One of the biggest things in energy drinks that makes you feel energized is good old fashioned b-vitamins. That’s it. Energydrinks are not inherently bad, but the sugar and artificial sweeteners can be. I’ve found an energy drink that is naturally sweetened with 6 grams of sugar from fruit juice, so It’s safe to assume it’s as safe as a lightly sweetened cup of coffee. I dropped energy drinks for New Years. Energydrinks in mass consumption (more than 2 bottles a day) can be devastating to your health in the long run, so I wouldn’t advise making it a habit. But since maybe you need that intial push, a can won’t kill you. It’s better to be healthier as a person, and use energy drinks as needed.Thisis probably more closely related to the high volume and sugar count of energy drinks compared to 5 hour energy. You should theoretically get the same effect from energy drinks if you downed them like you likely do the 5 hour energy product. rm999. •
Themajor concern with diet soda is not really cancer, but rather its links to heart disease and diabetes. For instance see this study. Though I have read a recent study that suggests that the context of the overall diet can be quite important. So, most likely if you drink it in moderation and otherwise maintain a healthy diet, you probably won jJoBy0.
